I don't wanna need to mess around with codes or anything once I patched my iso and have it on my PS2. Here is what I want: I want to be able to battle all Monsters MH2 has to offer, most of the game should be translated and it should be enjoyable and not ridiculously difficult alone. There are so many of the "alternative" patches, add to that that online is not available anymore anyway and I have no idea what to choose. I have a hard time choosing one of the English patches though. I also decided to learn Katakana and order MH3rd HD, but until then I would want to get back into the game and play MH2. I decided to order MH2 from Japan (on the way) as well as a chipped PS2. So I looked into it, only owning a PS3, not able to read Japanese and not too fond of the Wii limited my options. I finally wanted to experience Monster Hunter again, preferable though on a console at home.
